Benefits for Families (p. 2) |
Babies in the Workplace |
Lower Stress for Parents |
Babies-at-work programs result in lower overall stress for parents because
they do not have to separate from their babies, they have lower day care
costs and better financial stability, and they often enjoy the social support
network and intellectual stimulation of the workplace. |
Happier Marriages |
The lower stress for families from being able to bring babies to work
results in stronger and happier marriages. The increased financial stability
brought about by these programs means fewer financial conflicts for couples.
Parents don't have to work opposing schedules to avoid putting their
newborn babies in day care, which means more time together as a family. |
Easier Breastfeeding |
It is much easier for mothers to continue breastfeeding their babies
if they can bring them to work. Many mothers stop nursing before they actually
want to because of difficulties maintaining a milk supply after returning
to work, because of difficulties successfully pumping enough milk for their babies,
and other issues often related to separation from their babies. Babies-at-work
programs provide a huge benefit to mothers who wish to continue breastfeeding.
