Benefits for Businesses (p. 2) |
Babies in the Workplace |
Earlier Return to Work |
Businesses with baby programs find that employees frequently return
to work much earlier as a result of the program, since they can receive a paycheck
while still being able to be with their babies. In many cases, employees
appreciate the option of continuing their professional lives, and they also
enjoy the intellectual stimulation and social network of the workplace. |
Increased Employee Retention |
Mothers (and fathers) who can participate in a baby program are much
more likely to return to work after their baby's birth, and they are also much
more likely to stay with the company long-term. These programs create tremendous
loyalty and gratitude in parents. They also result in higher retention
of employees in general because people feel good about working for a company
that offers this sort of program, as well as because many people really enjoy
being around babies when they come to work. |
Higher Morale |
Because babies tend to be so highly content in structured baby programs,
their presence in the workplace greatly enhances workplace morale. Coworkers
and managers love taking "baby breaks" or taking a few minutes for a "baby
fix" if they're having a bad day. People find that holding or playing
with a happy baby for a few minutes makes them feel calm and content and helps
them to deal more effectively with work situations. |
